The Tonale Pass (1,883 m above sea level) divides the Ortles-Cevedale mountain range from the Adamello-Presanella mountain range and at the same time joins Trentino with Lombardy.

Vermiglio is connected to the Camonica Valley in Lombardy and to Alto Adige respectively via the SS 42 and the Mendola Pass.

This makes Vermiglio a central location for far-reaching excursions in two different provinces and regions.
